When bad things happen to me, well, I can try and reason with myself as to "why"...and I can put all of my faith into it and find comfort. But when bad things happen to my kids, it is really rather hard because trying to comfort them is very difficult. Sheridan and Garrett bought their first puppy and she was so adorable. About 2 weeks later they noticed that things weren't quite right so they took her to the vet. Distemper. "It is possibe that she can beat it but it is also possible that she can't" said Dr. Freund, the veteranarian. So equipped with medicine and a renewed spirit they took her home. For a few weeks all was well. Then the round of meds were over and she fell ill again. Yesterday no eating or drinking and today, very lethargic. I got a phone call tonight saying that she had her teeth clenched and that her eyes were open but she was not responding. About an hour went by and then another tear-filled phone call saying that their cute little Kiera puppy had passed away. They buried her under a tree that she liked in their yard, on their "ranch". This is very difficult to explain. I want to take their pain and run as fast as I can with it and then throw it far away so that it might never come back again. But I can't. So I tell her to go and snuggle Garrett and together they can feel comfort in each others arms. Then I tell her that I love her.

Monday madness...literally
Well , you know what they say. Things come in three's, right? Well it is true. A couple of weeks ago,and right before Leon left for the infamous church "High Adventure" to Lake Powell, his brother took a lovely spill on his bike and messed up his arm, about a week later his brother's wife,( Leons' sister-in-law) was playing in a softball tourny and got hit in the jaw with a ball which broke in two places and which she had to have wired shut for 6-8 weeks...ewwwwww. Well, then Leon left for his "adventure" and lo and behold we weren't up to three yet...so as not to be left out, he would be number 3. While attempting to water ski, and not being the most flexible person around, He tore his ham string muscle and his leg puffed up like a Macy's day parade balloon and then it proceeded to turn purple and green and red and yellow. It was a super good tear which left him in alot of pain. The blood ran underneath the skin from right under his bum clear down to his ankle. It was not very attractive, but more than that it really hurt. Poor baby. I nursed him along the best I could...so THEN TODAY..ohhhhhhh....first I think I live on a guyser or something. My kitchen sink started leaking leaving me with a puddle under the cabinet ( thing #1). Then our air conditioning condenser pump decided that it would harbor water instead of letting it drain causing us to have to climb up into the 150 degree attic and re-route the stinkin pipe (thing #2) and THEN (here we are at #3) my pool pump exploded...right on Leon, tonight. SO, it is true. Next time you see things start to happen...RUN!!!! I am going to bed now!
